Suzette was born into the world of music. Her aunt Dorothy Berry toured and sang as a Raylette, with the late and great Ray Charles; making a television appearance on Saturday Night Live originally aired: Saturday November 12, 1977 on NBC. Suzette was only 7 years old at the time, and her father made sure she was sitting in front of the television when she suddenly saw her aunt singing along with, whom she affectionately referred to as, "Brother Ray."
